Mid Term Evaluation Workshop of International Youth Foundation (IYF) to be held in Pondichery, 25-28 February 2008. CCFID is one of the partners of IYF in its Tsunami Response Initiative and has been given responsibility to support the organising of the event and disseminate its learnings at field level to other IYF partners.

WELCOME TO CCFID

Community Collective Society for Integrated Development (CCFID) is a livelihood promotion agency to facilitate the development of marginalized and poor families through livelihood promotion activities

CCFID was set up in the year 2004 and is registered under the Societies Registration Act (1860) of India.  CCFID’s operational area covers Karaikal and Puducherry in the Union Territory of Puducherry and Cuddalore and Vellore districts in Tamil Nadu.  The organisation now reaches out to over 7,000 families in these regions.   
CCFID as one of the lead professionally managed development organisations working in tsunami affected regions of south India. Our programs focus primarily on women, youth and children. We offer services in micro credit, livelihood promotion, employability and life skills enhancement. In program delivery we recognise the importance of promoting and supporting people’s institutions and strengthen them, so that change is people driven and that which leads to their empowerment. We invest in innovations and value local human resource and their ingenuity in delivering outputs that meet national and international standards.

1 CCFID has set up a Livelihood Resource and Training Centre (LRC) which will provide Business Development, Livelihood Financing, Institutional Development and Knowledge Management Services to its members and establish partnerships with public and private entities for linking to markets, information and technology.

Polyculture, water crab fattening enterprise is being undertaken by tsunami affected fisher folks (women) in Killai, Cuddalore where the livelihood of fisher folk was completely wiped out in the December 2004 tsunami. CCFID is supporting thewomento
implement this ADB and CARE India supported project and has facilitated the setting up of a Water Crab Federation. The Federation would take up aggregation, market linkage and financial linkage activities.
